Skyscraper

Assalamualaikum…

As I promised before, here is the deep meaning of Skyscraper. This is from our group researches.  Do read and enjoy yourselves, dear readers…! Haha.

"Skyscraper"

[Verse 1:]
Skies are crying, I am watching
Catching tear drops in my hands
Only silence as it's ending
Like we never had a chance
Do you have to make me feel like
There's nothing left of me?

[Chorus:]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

[Verse 2:]
As the smoke clears, I awaken
And untangle you from me
Would it make you feel better
To watch me while I bleed?
All my windows still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

[Chorus:]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

[Bridge:]
Go run, run, run
I'm gonna stay right here,
Watch you disappear
Yeah, oh
Go run, run, run
Yeah, it's a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here

[Chorus:]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Oh Oh
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

(Like a skyscraper)

Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

Aggression deliberately and persistently directed against a particular target or victim, typically one who is weak, vulnerable and defenseless. This is the definition of bullying. No matter what age, gender, race or size, no one is ever completely safe from it. What brings someone to torment another individual is quite mind-boggling, but some people seem to derive a kind of sick satisfaction from it. There are many bullied individuals who are able to able with the obstacles, problems and bullying  and lead to a successful lives, but it’s still extremely painful.

Demi Lovato is one of those people. Her single ‘Skyscraper’ embodies all of those emotions into a beautiful song. ‘Skyscraper’ is an anthem for anyone who’s ever been put down, laughed at or abused by others. There is a story behind this song that makes it all more meaningful. Demi Lovato has dealt with an eating disorder since she was a young girl; it stemmed from other children in elementary school calling her fat. Later as she became more famous, all the hurtful things that magazines and people said about her were extremely hard to handle. This song is her expressing her pain.

The feeling of indignation as we ask them why they never even tried to care is something anyone who has ever been bullied and tormented can relate to. The feeling of indignation is the feelings that you have nothing left to give to the people you love because people who have so much hate in their hearts are taking all the love out of yours. I can relate to this and so can many others.

When you’re being attacked by the problems and obstacles, your life seems to be coming to pieces. You have to deal with the stress and fear of never knowing if today is going to be the day when your tormentors decide to take it a step further. At times, you just want to tell them to just do it now and get it over with.

Sometimes, it feels like you’re walking on eggshells around yourself which anything can trigger those deep emotions that need to be hidden to survive. You’re in such a fragile place, and it always feel like others don’t know how delicate you need them to be with you.

The clarity that everyone has about this situation is when those things begin to lighten up and we wake up. I take it to mean that we see that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. By acknowledging that the tormentors need us to function, we have regained some of the power and are able to have some conviction even though our life may be falling apart. We can now begin to pick up the pieces of our world bit by bit and build again.

This song is showing us the deep and incredible pain. Everyone’s searching the mind for what could possibly be the reason for it, but then they have a moment of brilliance. A moment I am jealous of. Instead of being a victim, they find their anger, and in their anger they find strength.

It’s about being knocked down, but then getting up, dusting yourself off and rebuilding, even while people are watching you and giving you shit for it. You are able to rise above, and overcome any obstacle, no matter what the circumstances are.

Like a skyscraper! This is where the sing gets its title. You can liken yourself to a skyscraper; no matter what others do, you will survive. That was the moment when everything is going to be okay. Not because others changed, but because you changed.

If everyone has the same amount of clarity and strength that are shown in this song, then suicide and depression would be greatly decreased. At the beginning of the song, you’re so broken that you can’t even stand up for yourself. By the end of it, you believed that you were worth more than you were being treated. Demi Lovato is only 18 years old but she did something that some people never learn to do; she fought for herself. This song is your breaking point and your starting point.

‘Skyscraper’ is song that anyone who has ever felt defeated can instantly relate to. ‘Skyscraper’ is song of hope and inspiration for our generation. I hope that you guys love this song as much as we do! They can take everything we have. They can break everything we are. But, no one could ever take our strength to come back. Let’s create a positive energy everywhere we go. So, stay strong, guys! Yeah! Hahaha.

A huge thanks for reading !

KEX’14 – PART 2 (Song in Education)

Assalamualaikum…

Song in Education! Yes! This is our first assignment in KEX’14. Our? Yeah… For the first assignment we were divided into 6 groups. Each group had 7 or 8 members. Every group derived a song each for the SIE. The songs given for KEX’14 are Skyscraper, Counting Stars, Incredible Journey and so on. In this very first assignment, we need to present to Sis Marina, Captain Ariffin and others the video, folio, layouts and song meaning. Oh, I’m very sure that this will be very fantastic! Haha.

Okay now, I’m gonna introduce my group first. My group had 8 cute and sweet members…! Hahaha. Is that cute and sweet? Ya, of course! Haha. Our leader, Ahmed Wafi Bin Ghazali from Maahad Muhammadi Lelaki. Muhammad Ikmal Bin Mohd Riza also from Maahad Muhammadi Lelaki. Mohamad Syaqiq Bin Mohd Sidik from SMK Kota. Faizatul Syakira Binti Zamri from SMK Tendong. Suriana Binti Che Awang from SMK Manik Urai. Norfazira Binti Adnan from SMK Salor. Nik Syafiqa Binti Nik Suhaimi from Maahad Muhammadi Perempuan. And… Nik Aisyah Amalien Binti Nik Mohd Asri from SMKA Naim Lilbanat…! Hahaha.

Our group name is… MOHABBATEIN!!! Yeah…! Why Mohabbatein? Oh, because Mohabbatein means love… So what? Haha. Mohabbatein symbolizes our group. We love each other. Love? Hahahaha. Yes! We love each other as good friends. Sometimes it feels like I don’t want to be separated with them as we have to build new group for other assignment! We are just can blend with each member of our group easily. Haha. I’m sure that I’ll miss them forever. Wafi with his leadership and cares. Ikmal with his awareness. Syaqiq with his spirited advices. Sue with her softness. Faizatul with her helps. Fazira with her humors. Pika with her punctuality and benevolent. Thanks guys for everything! I do appreciate all of you.

Our group derives the Skyscraper song by Demi Lovato and Boyce Avenue for SIE. Yeah! This song is all about fortitude and rising above the trials and tribulations that we face in our lives. Everyone is battling something and I think many people can relate to this song and find it relevant to their lives.

This is Mohabbatein's video of SIE

Skyscraper is about rising above those issues. That it’s going to be okay. No matter how hard the rock bottom is, you can rise above it and you can come back. You’ll be the one in the end that will rise like a skyscraper and learn new things and live your life with happiness.

Skyscraper represented what you’re trying to spread the word about; getting help and rising above any issues that you’re dealing with. You’re taking it off and walking on broken glass and powering through it.

Dear readers, I’ll explain deeper about this song in next post ya? Hahaha. Till meet then…

A huge thanks for reading !

KEX’14 – PART 1 (Introduction)

Assalamualaikum …

First and foremost, I want to thank Allah s.w.t the Almighty for giving me this awesome and wonderful opportunity to participate in KEX. A huge thanks to my Papa and my Mummy for giving me their permissions and financial support. They’re such the great persons ever.

Okay, I will start with how I know about KEX. At first, as my friend, Aimuni and I were busy discussing about our presentation for Petrosains Science Show Competition in class, Aimuni suddenly asked me about KEX. “Pardon?” I asked her. “KEX? What is KEX?” I was in awe. Actually, Aimuni thought that I was being at Karisma Tuition Centre for my tuition classes. But, I was at Dinamis Tuition Centre instead. Hahaha J Then, she explained me a little bit about KEX. As we were enthusing with the English programme since before, in no times,  we asked Shimah about KEX. Shimah was one of the student of Karisma Tuition Centre. Without any sigh and complaint, Shimah was willing to make KEX crystal clear for us. She explained from A until Z. Hahaha J Yeah !!! Besides, I surfed the internet for more information and others’ experiences about KEX. Haha. Now, we are extremely attracted, excited and admired to join KEX’14 !!!!

So, what is KEX? Alright, now I will make you guys as clear as crystal about KEX. Haha. KEX comes from the term Karisma’s English Explorer. KEX is a special programme for SPM leavers.                 I am willing to inform you guys that the learning sessions of KEX will extend longer than the time provided. And… I am very sure about this. Hahaha. So, be prepared yaa??

KEX Programme is divided into two stages which are theoretical stage and practical stage.

About the discipline, students must come early to the class and being late is prohibited! KEX class will start exactly on time because punctuality is very vital and pivotal in KEX. Students need to practice the discipline in KEX. As the saying goes, discipline drives us to success and triumph!

Be Careful With My Heart

Be Careful with My Heart :)

If you love me, like you tell me
Please be careful with my heart
You can take it, just don't break it
Or my world will fall apart
You are my first romance, and I'm willing to take a chance
That til life is through, I'll still be loving you
I will be true to you, just a promise from you will do
From the very start, please be careful with my heart
I love you and you know I do
There'll be no one else for me
Promise I'll be always true, for the world and all to see
Love has heard some lies softly spoken
And I have had my heart badly broken
I've been burned and I've been hurt before
So I know just how you feel, trust my love is real for you
I'll be gentle with your heart, I'll caress it like the morning dew
I'll be right beside you forever
I won't let our world fall apart
From the very start, I'll be careful with your heart
You are my first (and you are my last) romance
And I'm willing to take a chance (I've learned from the past)
That til life is through, I'll still be loving you
I will be true to you (only to you)
Just a promise from you will do
From the very start (from the very start)
From the very start (from the very start)
From the very start (from the very start)
Please be careful with...(I'll be careful with...)
(your) (my) heart....

Sleeping Beauty

Assalamualaikum :)

Hi ... As the SPM leavers including me are having a very fruitful and long holiday now, it is quite awesome time for us to sleep soundly in order to cover our sleep time for years before. hahaha :)
This reminds me about the story of Sleeping Beauty. Oh! Now I remembered that I had received a storybook from my English teacher in Year 3 who named Teacher Gan Siew Eng. She is a nice and charismatic teacher.

I got this storybook from Teacher Gan as I scored the highest mark in the examination. haha :)

Here's the note that she wrote for me. hehe :)

Now, I want to share with you how the story goes on ... Hope you enjoy !

Sleeping Beauty

A long time ago and far away there lived a King and a Queen. They were very happy, for their first child, a girl, had been born.

“We must have a grand christening for her,” said the King, who was delighted to have a daughter.

“We must invite all the fairies of the kingdom to bless her,” said the Queen.

“How many are there now?” asked the King.

“Twelve or thirteen,” said his wife. “Send the invitations. A thirteenth fairy had not been heard of for so long that it was presumed that she was dead. No invitation was sent.

The day of the christening was sunny and bright. The Princess was named Briar Rose, and the fairies began to give their gifts.

“She shall be beautiful,” said the first.

“She shall be wise,” said the second.

“She shall be good,” said the third.

“She shall be kind,” said the fourth.

The gifts continued in this way, wishing all that was good for Briar Rose. Eleven of the twelve fairies had given their gifts when the room suddenly went dark. After a great flash of light a small dark figure stood in front of the King and Queen.

                It was the thirteenth fairy.

“Why wasn’t I invited to the christening?” She screamed.

She was furious at being left out.

“All the fairies of the kingdom have given their blessings. Well, here’s mine for the Princess. On her sixteenth birthday she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die.”

Another flash of light and the fairy was gone.

“But we thought she was dead,” said the King.

“What can we do?” The Queen was in tears.

The twelfth fairy stepped forward. “There is still my gift for Briar Rose,” she said.

“The fairy’s curse cannot be undone, but I can change it a little. She will prick her finger, but instead of dying she will fall into a deep sleep that will last one hundred years.”

There was a great hubbub in the hall as everyone discussed the events.

The following day the King issued a proclamation, ordering that all spinning wheels and spindles were to be destroyed. Throughout the land there were great fires as the spinning wheels were burned.

Over the years, the Princess grew into a lovely girl. All who met her were enchanted by her.

Eventually, the bad fairy’s wish was forgotten. All spinning wheels and spindles had been destroyed, so there was no reminder. And the fairy was not heard of again.

And so, on Briar Rose’s sixteenth birthday, the King and Queen were due to arrive back from a far away visit. There was to be a large birthday party for the Princess.

Briar Rose was wandering around the palace. Everyone was preparing for the party, so she could please her herself where she went. As there were still parts of the palace that she had never set foot in, she decided to go exploring.

“I wonder what is in the Great South Tower,” she said. All the servants and courtiers wished her a happy birthday as she made her way across the palace.

That part of the palace was very cold, and there were very few people there. The base of the tower was in a corridor. The entrance was a small, very solid looking door. The key was on the outside.

“It’s very stiff,” said the Princess, as she turned the key. “There! It’s open!”

Stairs led up the tower in front of her. She began to climb them.

Meanwhile, her parents had arrived back at the palace. “Has everyone seen the Princess?” asked the King.

“Today is her sixteenth birthday – the day when the curse may fall. Somebody must know where she is.”

Nearly everyone had seen her, but nobody knew where she had been going.

She must be found,” said the Queen. “If the prophecy is to come true, today is the day.”

A search of the palace and the grounds began.

Meanwhile, the Princess had reached the top of the tower where there was another door. This time there was no key and the door was slightly open.

“There must be wonderful view of the rest of the palace and grounds from the window,” said the Princess. Then she heard a strange whirring sound. It was unlike anything that she had ever heard before.
She pushed the door open and went into the room. There, in the middle, sat an old woman working at a spinning wheel. Behind her was an enormous bed.

The wheel was making the noise.

“What are you doing?” asked Briar Rose. “I have never seen one of those before, what is it?”

“It is a spinning wheel,” said the old woman.

“Would you like to try it my dear?”

“Oh, may I?” asked Briar Rose.

She sat on the stool in front of the wheel and the wheel whirred round. As soon as she touched the spindle she pricked her finger. She fell to the floor in a deep sleep. The old woman, who was really the thirteenth fairy in disguise, picked her up and laid her on the bed.

At that moment, all over the palace, people began to fall asleep. The cooks who were preparing for the party fell asleep over the stirring and tasting. The scullery maids fell asleep over the washing up. The laundry maid fell asleep while they dusted, polished and prepared for the party.

The King and Queen, the courtiers and the guests fell asleep in the Great Hall. The guards fell asleep at their posts. The search parties looking for the Princess fell asleep while they searched – in the gardens, in the corridors, in the spare rooms, and in the oldest part of the palace.

Even the flies fell asleep on the stable walls. The birds and the butterflies fell asleep in the palace gardens. So did the wild rabbits that raided the palace vegetable gardens. The gardeners and their helpers, who were busy chasing off the rabbits, fell asleep in mid-chase.

In the hearths the fires died down and the meat stopped cooking. The kitchen maid stopped plucking the chicken.

The entire palace fell asleep, along with the Princess.

A hedge of briar roses sprang up around the palace, protecting it from the outside world.

Years passed, and from time to time a King’s son would come to the famous briar hedge to try and find the mysterious sleeping Princess that the legend spoke of. But none got through. The hedge was too strong and the Princess was cut to bits.

A hundred years passed and the tale of the Sleeping Beauty, as the Princess was known, became a great legend. Very few people believed she existed.

One day a King’s son came to the nearby village.

“Legend says,” an old man was speaking in the village square. “Legend says that the Princess lies asleep behind that great briar hedge just outside the village. In my grandfather’s day, you could see the topmost turret of her tower, so they say.”

The Prince stopped to listen. “Where can I find this hedge?” he asked.

“Just beyond the village, young sir,” said the old man. “If you’re going to try, you’ll need more luck than the other young men who have had a go.”

“I shall try,” said the Prince. “We have heard of Sleeping Beauty in my kingdom.”

The Prince went to the hedge and held up his sword. He went to strike at the hedge, but where his sword met the thorns, great roses bloomed instead. A path opened for him, for the one hundred years were up. The curse was lifting.

The hedge seemed to disappear before him.

He went through into the palace grounds, walking past the sleeping rabbits, birds and butterflies, and the gardeners at their work. The kitchens were full of cooks and maids who hadn’t moved for a hundred years – they were all fell asleep. Even the King and Queen who were seated at the table in the Great Hall were sleeping soundly!

The Prince walked on through the palace, making his way to the tallest tower where he climbed the stairs and entered the tower room.

There on the bed he saw Briar Rose fast asleep.

“She is so lovely,” he said. He had fallen completely in love with her. “How can I wake?”

He leant over and gently kissed her.

Briar Rose’s eyelids flickered and she woke up. The first person she saw was the Prince and shee fell in love with him.

Together they walked down to the Great Hall. The King and Queen were just waking up, when the Prince and Briar Rose entered.

The cooks in the kitchen woke up to carry on preparing the food and the chambermaids carried on with their work.

The party was still to be held, but it was an engagement party instead of a birthday party. The Prince and Briar Rose were to be married.

The hedge disappeared and the village saw the palace again and realized the legend had been true.

The bad fairy was never heard of again. They lived happily together then...
